The Thing Is...

I know I don't write as much as I used to on this blog. Sometimes it is just a photo, and I'm ok with it. I have never been one to aimlessly ramble for the sake of filling up a page. Lately, it has been on my mind that I admit to being a blogger nowadays. Funny how before it seemed to almost be a curse word. Listen...blogging is not glamorous. My belief is you really have to love it. We are the sanitation workers of the fashion event/creator world. Before you get offended, let me explain. First, I am not talking about the "uber (not the event) bloggers". You know who I mean...the people that could take a photo of an ass pimple and it soars to 441514663 favs within the hour. Those people have skills that I most likely will never have. I am speaking of the perfectly average blogger, which is what I consider myself to be.

Not long ago, I watched a panel through you tube speak about bloggers and what they look for in selecting people to represent their brand. Two of the three seemed pretty positive about the choice to have bloggers, but there was the one that almost seemed to really dislike them...or thought of them as a necessary evil. Now no one really wants a garbage truck parked in front of their house and the workers having a picnic, but they for sure want them to stop by and do their job. You know, get the trash, but don't make eye contact! I'm fortunate that I blog for some folks that give great feedback. If you happen to be new at it, I will offer this....come in with thick skin, the ability to hear a no, the ability to hear nothing at all, and use every experience to make an improvement.
