You know the old saying, but is it true? I think it really depends on the company you keep. My experience in the real world has been more positive. My surroundings are mostly consistent, and my judgement more clear. I think it is due to being able to see body language. The virtual world is much more difficult. Seems folks want you around as long as you have something to offer. Also, I think "SL Friends" secretly hope for your failure. I am not saying that EVERYONE in SL is an asshole. I just think you have to be on your A game in choices, and who you take advice from. This is not pessimism. It is just reality as I have experienced it. The thing is that I keep coming back, because for that one true connection...it makes the BS worth it to find them.
